PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winder for automatically winding a longer sheet like article which is light-weight and bulky such as plastic foaming sheet, which is a winder in capable of manufacture of a coil without paper pipe. SOLUTION: In this automatic winder provided with a turret device (2) for rotating two or more winding shafts so that they are operated sequentially, a tension controller (3), a cutter (4) and a rotation driving means of the winding shaft, the winding shaft is divided into a right and a left winding shaft (1A and 1B) and each of them can go forward/back through a bearing of the turret device (2) so that they approach/separate from each other with its interval when they are separated the most being set larger than the width of the coil, and the winder is provided with a claw (5) or a groove (12) for winding the sheet like article (8).
