The method includes a step of calculating a pixel signal level difference value between a detection pixel on a current field and a detection pixel at the same position of the field later by one frame from the current field, thereby identifying a first field, a step of detecting a motion vector between a detection pixel of a field at a moment and a field later by one frame or two frames, a step of calculating interpolation pixel data for the detection pixel according to a detection pixel in a field at a moment and a detection pixel in a field later by one frame or two frames, a step of arranging in the fields following the first field the interpolation pixel data at a pixel position shifted in the vector direction of the motion vector from the position of the detection pixel in a field at a moment, and a step of successively increasing the shift amount from the first field to the later fields within the range of the vector amount of the aforementioned motion vector.
