<p>A phenylalanine derivative represented by the following formula, its analog and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof show an α4 integrin inhibitory activity. These compounds are usable as remedies or preventives for various diseases, for example, in which the α4 integrin-dependent adhesion process relating to α4 integrin participates in pathological conditions, such as inflammatory diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, multiple sclerosis, Soegren’s syndrome, asthma, psoriasis, allergy, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, arteriosclerosis, restenosis, tumor proliferation, tumor metastasis or rejection in transplantation.
