<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operating characteristics in almost all of operating conditions, simplify a structure, and extremely easily adapt various different internal combustion engines and pre-feed pumps. <P>SOLUTION: This device comprises a control device, a high-pressure fuel pump 17, a pump element 19, and a prefeed pump 1. The prefeed pump is designed to pressure transfer the fuel from a tank 5 to the suction side of the pump element 19. The amount of fuel pressure-transferred by the prefeed pump 1 is introduced in a low pressure range of the pump element 19, or additionally the high pressure fuel pump 17 by a direction switch valve 33. The direction switch valve 33 is constituted as a continuously adjustable direction switch valve 33, and designed to be controlled by the control device in relation to the operating condition of the internal combustion engine and/or the operating condition of the fuel injection system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
