<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicolor image forming apparatus which can provide an image of good quality having no out of color registration. <P>SOLUTION: An intermediate transfer body is equipped with at least a 1st shaft 2 which is arranged opposite to a photoreceptor 1, a 2nd shaft 4 which is arranged opposite to a transfer roller 12, an intermediate transfer belt 3 which is trained over the 1st shaft 2 and 2nd shaft 4 and a part of which comes into contact with the photoreceptor 1 and the other part of which is opposed to the transfer roller 12, and a tension roller 40 which is installed not between a separation point A where the intermediate transfer belt 3 separates from the 1st shaft 2 and a start point B where the intermediate transfer belt 3 begins to be wound around the 2nd shaft 4, but between a separation point C where the intermediate transfer belt 3 separates from the 2nd shaft 4 and a winding start position D where the intermediate transfer belt 3 begins to be wound around the 1st shaft 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
