PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a mold for molding a surface state having a plurality of fine regularly-arrayed projections, specially, a manufacturing method for a mold which makes it possible to efficiently manufacture the shape of a fine recessed part for fine projection molding with a high degree of freedom. SOLUTION: A light-soluble coating provided on a base material is irradiated in order with a light beam controlled with a specified light quantity distribution from the center of the beam and after the part of the light-soluble coating solved according to the quantity of irradiation light is developed and removed, the base material surface is etched to form a plurality of fine recessed parts in a shape corresponding to the light quantity distribution of the irradiation light beam on the base material surface.
