PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film for fixing a nucleic acid that can efficiently and stably fix a nucleic acid such as DNA onto the surface of the film with excellent reproducibility, and at the same time consists of a transparent hydrogenation amorphous carbon film whose surface is subjected to hydrogen termination or hydrogenation amorphous carbon nitride film. SOLUTION: The base surface is coated with a hydrogen amorphous carbon film. In the hydrogen amorphous carbon film, the film surface is terminated by hydrogen bonding due to -C-HX (X=1, 2, 3), and at the same time the concentration of hydrogen in the film is ranges from 20 to 50 atom.%. Or the base surface is coated with a hydrogenation amorphous carbon nitride film. In the hydrogenation amorphous carbon nitride film, the film surface is terminated by hydrogen bonding due to -N-H<SB>2</SB>, -N-HR (R is CH<SB>3</SB>), or -C-HX (X=1, 2, 3), and at the same time the concentration of hydrogen in the film is ranges from 20 to 50 atom.%.
