PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control system that can invalidate a wrong operation of an operating member upon a collision of a running vehicle. SOLUTION: The vehicle control system has an engine controller 16 for controlling the vehicle in dependence on a displacement position of an operating part lever 10 detected by an operating position sensor 12, and an electric controller 15 for prohibiting operation control of the vehicle depending on the displacement position of the operating lever 10 in response to collision detection by an acceleration sensor 14. The system further has a steering controller 18 for steering the vehicle in dependence on a displacement position of the operating part lever 10 detected by an operating position sensor 13, and an electric controller 15 for maintaining a steering angle of wheels at a steering angle at collision detection in response to collision detection by the acceleration sensor 14.
