PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foundation construction capable of controlling settlement of a structure excellent in economic efficiency as well as facilitation of construction. SOLUTION: A foundation 1 comprised of a bottom section 11, a rising section 12 and an upper section 13 and enclosed with an inside hollow is constructed as the direct foundation for holding a building 100, and it is so provided that a floor slab 101 of a first floor of the building 100 is combined with the upper section 13 of the foundation 1. By the constitution, the foundation 1 has both functions as a foundation beam and a continuous foundation, and since it is built in the simple shape of a rectangular section in the uniform thickness, of each of constitutions, the settlement of the building 100 can be rationally controlled at a low construction cost without taking time for work such as form framing, bar arrangement or the like.
