<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device capable of easily determining whether or not any defective seal has occurred. <P>SOLUTION: This sealing device comprises a seal block having a seal element to seal a packaging material in the predetermined direction, a counter element formed of an elastic material facing the seal block which is disposed in an advancing/retracting manner, a pressure sensor which is disposed on a back side of the counter element to generate the sensor pressure according to the deformation of the counter element, and a sealing condition discriminating means to discriminate the sealing condition based on the sensor output. Since the sealing condition can be discriminated based on the sensor output, it can be easily determined whether or not any defective seal has occurred. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
