PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition which has an excellent balance of abrasion resistance, processability, rolling resistance, and wet skid performance, and a tire using the rubber composition in the tread. SOLUTION: A rubber composition comprising 100 pts.wt. diene based rubber and/or natural rubber, 30-120 pts.wt. silica, and 5-40 pts.wt. zirconium silicate having an average particle diameter of≤10μm is used as the rubber composition for a tire tread.
