PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable assured detection of nonconformity of sheets. SOLUTION: This sheet monitoring device is provided with a picture taking device 10 comprising a CCD camera or the like for taking a picture of the sheet surface of a sheet 100, an image evaluating means 20 for comparing the image of the sheet 100 taken by the picture taking means 10 with a standard image when the picture of the sheet 100 without folded corners or tear is taken, and an alarm means 30 for putting out an alarm when the image evaluating means 20 detects an image difference exceeding a predetermined value.
