<p>The present invention is directed to a bone assembly (10) including a bone plate (12), bone screws (14) received in apertures (16) in the assembly (10), and a screw retaining member (22) fixed to the bone plate (12) which covers at least a portion of the bone screws (14). When bone screws (14) have been received by the bone plate (12) and inserted into bone and/or tissue, the bone plate assembly (10) can be used to fuse anatomical structures together, such as adjoining bones, or to heal a fracture in bone.</p> |
