PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid defects to be brought on a product by the presence of a joint when a metal sheet-like mold obtained separately from a roller is wound around the roller to be used as a shaping roller. SOLUTION: A metal sheet 4 provided with a surface plating layer 2b if necessary and having a fine uneven surface 3 is wound around the outer surface of a metal roller cylindrical part 2a through a double-side pressure-sensitive adhesive tape 7 so as to leave the ends 4b of the metal sheet 4, and the ends 4b are fixed by welded parts 8. Solder 6 is applied over the ends 4b of the metal sheet 4 so as to fill the gap 5 between the ends 4b, and a grinding part 6a is formed to the surface of the solder 6 to obtain the shaping roller.
