PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing technique which can improve shock absorbing performance while restricting the cross section of a rope to a constant value. SOLUTION: There is provided a shock absorbing fence, according to which protective loops 30, 30, etc., formed of the rope are wrap-connected to struts 20, 20 and horizontally erected in multiple stages, and corrugated joint members 50 are arranged on a single surface or both surfaces of the protective loops 30, 30, etc., which have been wrap-connected in the multiple stages, in a direction that crosses the loops.
