PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a taurine-containing toothpaste composition which allows no precipitation of taurine crystals at low temperatures, inhibits discoloration upon storage under heating conditions and exerts an excellent shelf stability and usability. SOLUTION: This composition contains 0.5-4 mass% taurine and≥2 mass% at least one water-soluble, neutral salt selected from sodium chloride, sodium sulfate and potassium nitrate and has a water content of 30-55 mass% and a pH of 5-7.
