PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the coolant recovery method and the coolant recovery apparatus in which recovery of a coolant may be performed easily and may not need a separate recovery tank even if a compressor cannot be operated. SOLUTION: The coolant recovery apparatus comprises a recovery hose 9 whose one end is connected to connection piping 6 provided between a packed valve 5 of a split type cooling apparatus 2 and the interior unit 4, a coolant recovery machine 8 to which the other end of the recovery hose 9 is connected and having a compressor 8a, and a filling hose 10 connected to the coolant piping 11 in which one end thereof is connected to the coolant recovery machine 8 and the other end is provided at an exterior unit 3.
