The molding tool includes sliding wedges (81) advanced between legs (82d) to complete cores. These mold recesses in the block (between the air passages in the diagram). Transverse pegs at the ends of the legs form aligned side penetrations into opposite recess walls, which accept a transverse shaft transfixing all air passages and recesses. The side penetrations form bearings for the shaft. Following solidification, the wedges are retracted, the legs move together and the tool can be extracted without interference. Independent claims are also included for: (1) application of the method producing a block with recesses and air passages, each throttled by a butterfly on the shaft, the block being located between the cylinder head and the air inlet manifold of an engine; (2) the corresponding mold. Preferred features: The peg is fixed to the block. The peg and/or block are adjustable and interchangeable. The peg is mounted on an eccentric, assisting alignment with pegs of the other legs. Its fastening is detachable. |
