PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorative plate which can prevent its surface decorative material from falling and peeling due to shrinkage, deformation, and degradation of a substrate, can withstand a long-term use, and is excellent in heat insulating effect, and to provide a method for producing the decorative plate. SOLUTION: The decorative plate 1 consists of the substrate 3 formed of a synthetic resin plate, and the surface decorative material 2 stuck to one surface of the substrate 3 via an adhesive 4. The substrate 3 has recesses 5 formed in one surface thereof, in which the adhesive 4 is filled. Specifically, the recesses 5 are trapezoidal recesses 5 each having a bottom surface in the substrate 3, or inverted trapezoidal recesses each having a top surface in the substrate 3.
