PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of production for a clear aqueous solution of fatty acid ester salt of hydroxyalkanesulfonic acid without sedimentation, especially to provide a method of production for the solution capable of retaining the clear state for a long time. SOLUTION: The method of production for the aqueous solution of fatty acid ester salt of hydroxyalkanesulfonic acid includes three steps comprising a first step clarifying the aqueous solution of fatty acid ester salt of hydroxyalkanesulfonic acid containing the sedimentation by heating to 30-70°C, a second step reprecipitating the solution obtained in the first step by cooling the solution at a cooling rate of 1-10°C/hr to 0-20°C and a third step pressure filtrating the aqueous solution obtained in the second step by using a filter plate having retention particle diameter 0.1-1.0μm under 0.1-1.0 MPa.
