<p>The present disclosure relates to circular staplers for performing rectal mucosectomies and other surgical procedures. The circular staplers include a shaft having a proximal and distal end, a cartridge assembly having a plurality of staples and operatively coupled to the distal end of the shaft, the cartridge assembly having a housing and a distal end defining an inner chamber, an anvil assembly operatively coupled to the cartridge assembly, and a channel adapted to communicate with a source of vacuum and the cartridge assembly to transmit a vacuum to the inner chamber of the cartridge assembly for drawing tissue into the inner chamber of the cartridge assembly.</p> |
