A carton and a blank for forming a carton comprising an open−topped box like body and at least one lid (12) hinged to the body to close its open top, the lid being hinged to an upper edge of one of a pair of opposed side walls (30, 301) of the body and the lid comprising a hollow box construction provided by inner and outer lid panels (16, 20) and an edge face (18) connecting those panels together. The lid is hinged to the side wall (30) such that the box section is brought into its full cross−sectional form as the lid is closed and such that the box section is collapsed as the lid is brought into its open position.
