The invention concerns a method for exchanging electronic catalogues between at least a supplier and a purchaser, characterized in that, an electronic catalogue being available at the supplier's in at least a first file format particular to the supplier and having to be made available at the purchaser's in at least a second format particular to the purchaser, it consists in: retrieving a supplier electronic file including data corresponding to attributes defined by the latter as representing data of his catalogue and storing said data in a supplier database; transferring all or part of the data stored in said base to a purchaser database, in accordance with correspondence rules defined between the attributes of the supplier database and the attributes of the purchaser database; processing the data transferred into the purchaser base and stored therein to reconstitute a purchaser catalogue file.
