Climatic test simulator for roller- and pleated blind materials used in e.g. skylights, controls internal temperature, humidity and external artificial radiation

A roofing section inclined at 35% is fitted with a thermally-insulating window (F). The clear window area is 50 cm x 50 cm. It has a low k value and completes a test chamber (P) with thermally-insulated side walls. The test roller blind (R) is wound against spring-biasing, onto a shaft 25 mm wide. The shaft holder is located high in the test box, closely behind the window (F). It runs freely, guided at the sides. The lower end has a draw cord connected to a stepper-motor used to execute repeated opening and closing cycles. In an alternative configuration, it is also possible to test roller blinds in cassettes driven from the side.
