<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device for a vehicle that drives a movable anchor to a position having no problem in opening or closing a rear door when the rear door is opened, can appropriately constrain a front seat occupant even in the vehicle having a relatively low occupant sitting position, and can reconcile the safety of the front seat occupant and the getting on/off property of a rear seat occupant. <P>SOLUTION: The seat belt device has the movable anchor 37 for fixing and supporting a webbing 28 under the outside of the vehicle of the front seat 21 occupant. The seat belt device has a driving mechanism 50 for driving the movable anchor 37 to the position having no problem in opening or closing the rear door 3 when the rear door 3 is opened, and for converting the movement in closing the rear door 3 to a driving force and driving the movable anchor 37 downward when the rear door 3 is closed.
