PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device, preventing an assistance starting delay when an ignition switch is turned on again before a preset delay time passes after the ignition switch is turned off. SOLUTION: When the preset delay time passes after the ignition switch is turned off, a control device switches both of a power relay 37 and a motor relay 36 off. When the ignition switch is turned on again before the delay time passes, the control device is put in a stand-by state for the input of preset assistance starting conditions (engine speed NE>470 rpm) without performing an initial check. Thus, when the ignition switch is turned on again before the delay time passes, assistance can be started soon.
