摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal light quantity adjusting device capable of optimizing the effective power of driving pulses for acceleration to improve the response characteristic of transmittance, and to provide a method for driving the same and a camera using the same. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal light quantity adjusting device of this invention is provided with a driving pulse generation circuit 16 for generating pulse- form voltage driving pulses, a liquid crystal light quantity adjusting part 12 for varying transmittance of a liquid crystal according to the pulse form of the driving pulses, and a control circuit 19 for controlling a frequency of the driving pulses and a duty ratio, and the control circuit 19 is configured so as to make the driving pulse generation circuit 16 generate driving pulses consisting of pulse-form driving pulses for acceleration of a 1st frequency and a 1st duty ratio and pulse-form driving pulses for light control of a 2nd frequency different from the 1st frequency and a 2nd duty ratio different from the 1st duty ratio.
