Plasticizing extruder for production of fiber reinforced plastic compounds has screws with spacer ring cutting segments between conveying segments

A twin screw extruder fed with fiber rovings and fluid plastic film has co-rotating screws. Along the multi-keyed screw shafts(11) there are screw conveying segments(2,2') with exchangeable short spacer ring cutting segments(3). Each of the latter comprises one or more flights(6) with cutting edges(7) and a spacer ring(5). Preferred Features: One or more pairs of spacer ring cutting segments are assembled on the screw shaft with pairs of spacer rings having either the same or different thickness(a). Each spacer ring cutting segment is followed by an additional spacer ring.
