An image storage device creates index image data representing an index image. One index image contains a plurality of original images. The image storage device maps an inherent identifier of each of the plurality of original images to a second identifier of each of the plurality of original images. The second identifier of each of the plurality of original images corresponds to a position in each of the original images in one index image.
