METHOD OF INCREASING STAMPING MATERIALS IN EAF

PURPOSE: A method of increasing stamping materials in electric arc furnace (EAF) is provided, which can prevent chemical attack of slag against stamping materials by pouring briquette being comprised of MgO and electric furnace dust into melt. CONSTITUTION: In an operation of mini mill electric furnace, the method is characterized in that a sub briquette comprising soft burnt dolomite 15 to 20 wt.%, electric furnace dust 75 to 80 wt.% and binder 5 to 10 wt.% is poured into mini mill electric furnace after tapping molten steel therefrom for the purpose of securing saturated dissolvability of magnesia in slag, wherein the weight ratio of soft burnt dolomite and electric furnace dust is 1 : 4.
