PURPOSE: A method for charging coal into COREX melter gasifier is provided to distribute coal symmetrically by installing guiding chute inside connection pipe of coal charging apparatus, thereby changing drop trajectory of coal so that the center of a coal pile charged into the melter gasifier is positioned at the center of the melter gasifier. CONSTITUTION: In COREX process for manufacturing molten iron by supplying reduction iron to the upper part of the melter gasifier and charging coal into the melter gasifier sequentially passing through the coal charging screw and connection pipe of the coal charging apparatus using a COREX facility comprising reduction furnace for reducing iron ore, melter gasifier(1) for manufacturing molten iron by smelting and reducing reduction iron reduced in the reduction furnace and coal charging apparatus(100) comprising coal charging screw(5) for charging coal into the melter gasifier and connection pipe(8) connected between the coal charging screw and melter gasifier, the method for charging coal into COREX melter gasifier is characterized in that coal is charged into the melter gasifier by installing a guiding chute(10) which is consisted of upper straight line part(11) and lower inclined part(12), and in which length (L1) of the straight line part is 3.5 or more times of diameter (D1) of the straight line part, a ratio of diameter (D2) of the lowermost end of the inclined part/diameter (D1) of the straight line part is 0.75 to 0.85, and the inclined part is inclined in an angle of 20 to 30 degrees from the straight line part inside the connection pipe of the coal charging apparatus so that the straight line part is positioned at the side of the coal charging screw, and the inclined part is positioned at the side of the melter gasifier, thereby positioning the center of a coal pile charged into the melter gasifier at the center of the melter gasifier.
