PURPOSE: A method for controlling cooling rate of hot rolled strip through change of target coiling temperature is provided to increase hitting ratio of the target coiling temperature by calculating required water cooling amount with the target coiling temperature being changed as much as its difference after comparing the target coiling temperature with actual temperature results. CONSTITUTION: In a method for controlling temperature of hot rolled strip in a hot rolling facility in which hot finish rolling mill, run-out table and down coiler are sequentially arranged, and first, second and third thermometers are installed in rear of the hot finish rolling mill, between eighth bank and ninth bank on the run-out table and in front of the down coiler respectively, the method for controlling cooling rate of hot rolled strip through change of target coiling temperature comprises a step(100,101) of calculating required water cooling amount for feedforward control by using thickness, width and speed of strip, actually measured finishing delivery temperature (FDT), actually measured target middle cooling temperature (MCT), target coiling temperature (CT), actually measured coiling temperature and learning coefficient; a step(102,103,104) of correcting the target coiling temperature according to the temperature difference by calculating difference between actually measured coiling temperature of strip and target coiling temperature of the strip per control cycles, and calculating the required water cooling amount again accordingly; a step(105) of determining front injection water bank by utilizing the corrected required water cooling amount in front feedforward control; and a step(107) of applying finally applied learning coefficient to each learning point.
