PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a molding tool which allows process simplification and cost reduction, and a method for manufacturing a molding tool of steady dimensional accuracy. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a molding tool which comprises: a process to obtain a resin-made male (convex) mold 2 by casting a first resin on a female (concave) mold 1 which is a metal mold having a concavo-convex pattern reversal to a concave-convex pattern of an article to be molded, curing at a first temperature and releasing it; and a process to obtain a resin made female (concave) mold 3 by casting a second resin on the above mentioned resin made male (convex) mold 2, curing at a second temperature and releasing it; wherein both the above mentioned first and second resins are thermosetting resins flexible after curing.
