PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sub-stretcher in which a bend and a warp caused by the heat shrinkage of an extruded material can be reduced and the material is not damaged due to an interference with a cooling table. SOLUTION: The sub-stretcher comprises a head side holding unit 13 having an arm 29 vertically oscillatorily provided at a mobile body 22 and a grasping part 13a rotatably mounted at the arm 29, and a tail side holding unit 14 having an articulated arm member 14b mounted at a mobile body 14a, and a grasping part 14c capable of being moved in parallel in an arbitrary direction by the arm member 14b. A tail side end of the extruded material on a run-out table 5 is grasped by the grasping part 14c, moved together with the body 14a in an extruding direction, the head side end of the material is aligned, and the head side end is grasped by the grasping part 13a.
