PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress scales formed on heat exchanger tubes of a boiler, heat exchanging parts of a cooling tower where condensation occurs, or the like due to the influence of water. SOLUTION: The method for suppressing scales includes a process of controlling the concentration of oxygen consumption in the feed water (pH 4.8) influencing the heat exchanging part to≤100 mg/l.
