PURPOSE: A toothpaste composition comprising a first paste and a second paste which are filled in a double layered vessel is provided, thereby bleaching teeth without adverse side effect such as abrasion of teeth and exhibiting a remarkable inhibition effect on dental carries and periodontal disease. CONSTITUTION: A toothpaste composition comprises a first paste containing hydrogen peroxide and a second paste containing sodium hydrochlorite in a weight ratio of 1:1. The first and second pastes contain about 2.5x10¬-4 to 1.5% by weight of hydrogen peroxide and about 2.5x10¬-4 to 0.25% by weight of sodium hydrochlorite respectively, based on each paste. The first and second pastes are contained in a double layered vessel or a separate vessel having a diaphragm.
