PURPOSE: A variable balance shaft of a vehicle engine is provided to reduce vibration by separating the variable balance shaft from a crank shaft when an engine starts, and integrally coupling the variable balance shaft with the crank shaft when the engine is on. CONSTITUTION: A variable balance shaft(15) of a vehicle engine includes an actuator(12) for moving a plunger back and forth by receiving power from a magnetic switch and a second gear member(14b), which is detachably engaged with a first gear member(14a) of a crank shaft(13). The gear member of the variable balance shaft(15) is coupled to the plunger in order to move along the variable balance shaft(15) together with the plunger. A locking member(16) and locking hole(17) are provided to connect the plunger of the actuator(12) to the second gear member(14b) of the variable balance shaft(15).
