APPARATUS FOR MEASURING MELTING AMOUNT IN ELECTRIC FURNACE

PURPOSE: An apparatus for measuring melting amount in electric furnace is provided to prevent loss of electric energy inputted by measuring and analyzing proceeding circumstances of melting operation in the electric furnace to find out exact melting completion time, thereby suppressing a part to which excessive electricity is conducted. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus includes a level measuring part(31) installed at three symmetrical points on the upper part of the electric furnace to measure height of melt charged into the electric furnace; a data input part(34) into which measured values of the level measuring part and data such as process data of electric furnace facility(33), input power inputted into the electric furnace and conduction time are inputted; a storage part(35) into which specific gravity based on the data impressed from the data input part and volume reference table of melt and realtime measured data are stored; an operation part(36) for judging melting completion time by obtaining volume of raw materials injected at melting completion time by reading the data stored in the storage part, computing the obtained volume of the injected raw materials into height at the melting completion time based on the internal specification of the electric furnace, and comparing current height of scrap measured from the level measuring part with the calculated height at the melting completion time; and an output part(37) for outputting control output signals accordingly when melting is completed according to judgement of the operation part.
