<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtration apparatus in which the removing rate of impurities included in the liquid to be treated is increased, the treated water can be used for a long time, and the life of an ion exchange resin or a reverse osmosis membrane can be extended even when water is further treated by the ion exchange resin or the reverse osmosis membrane. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with a filtering layer 2 packed with a helical filtering material 1 in which anaerobic bacteria and aerobic bacteria can habituate separately from each other.
