PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for easily and surely caulking a plurality of rivets used to secure a floating nut having a mounting section and a nut section to a substrate, without damaging the mounting section and the nut section. SOLUTION: The method caulks each end 28b of two rivets 28 pierced from the substrate 33 through the mounting section 29, in order to fasten the floating nut 25 having the nut section 30 and the mounting section 29 supporting the nut section 30 so as to movably float within a certain range by using a retainer 29b to the substrate 33. Therefore it moves a second snap member 32 towards a first snap member 31 with a bolt 27' as a guide in a condition that the bolt 27' inserted in bolt holes 22b, 23b of the substrate 33 is screwed into the nut section 30 to be located, and then caulks the end 28b of the rivets 28.
