PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relieve the feelings of discomfort a subject receives when an ultrasonic probe inserted into his/her body cavity is rotated around its axis. SOLUTION: A ultrasonic probe 100 is provided with a ultrasonic probe 101 that has a semispherical end portion, of which the diameter D has been determined large enough to accommodate ultrasonic vibrators arranged surface F, made in one and smoothly connected with a cylindrical portion having a diameter (d<D), and also provided with a handle 2 to which the ultrasonic probe 101 is attached.
