569,266. Golf clubs. DEWSBURY, J. July 27, 1943, No. 12198. [Class 132 (ii)] In a golf club wherein the loft may be varied, the head 13 is provided with a screwed shank 15 passing through an eye 9 in the ferrule 8 and secured by a countersunk nut 17 and serrated faces 12, 16. An internal washer prevents over-tightening. The nut may be provided with wings or projections 20 to facilitate turning, or may have a slotted end. To permit the lie of the head to be varied, the ferrule is divided into two parts united by a pivot 26, Fig. 7, so that the angular relation of the parts may be adjusted. A spring catch 30 and a bolt 27 lock the parts after adjustment. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 374 /95, [Class 132], and 214,466, [Class 132 (ii)]. |
