PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to improve cooling performance by controlling expanding pressure of a refrigerant expanding unit. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner includes an electronic expansion valve(40) installed in an indoor unit to decompress and expand refrigerant introduced to an evaporator(20), and controlling expanding pressure of refrigerant depending on surrounding state; and a valve case(50) installed to cover the electronic expansion valve. A protecting member(56) comprises a first protecting member(56a) and a second protecting member(56b), and is installed in the valve case to cover the electronic expansion valve so as to prevent transmission of working noise of the electronic expansion valve to the outside and to protect the electronic expansion valve against outside moisture. The valve case has a storing space(53) formed therein to store the electronic expansion valve, includes a first case(51) and a second case(52) separable from each other, and is detachably fixed on one side of the evaporator by coupling one side of the first case on an end plate(23) of the evaporator with a fixing screw(55). |
