PURPOSE: A method for automatically and remotely installing an operating system of a LINUX-based cluster system is provided to supply a system managing method of automatically installing a LINUX operating system from a remote place in many cluster configuration hosts, thereby supporting to initially install the operating system or upgrading the system to a new version of operating system. CONSTITUTION: A client host(110) assigned with an IP address requests a file of a 'tftp' server(122) of a managing host(120)(134). The 'tftp' server(122) transmits the file(135). The client host(110) selects remote installation(136). The client host(110) requests an installation image of an NFS(Network File System) server(124)(137). The managing host(120) transmits the installation image(138). The client host(110) requests a domain name of a DNS(Domain Name Server)(125)(139). The DNS(125) transmits the domain name(140).
