APPARATUS FOR PREVENTING IMPURITIES FROM BEING INTRODUCED INTO TUNDISH

PURPOSE: An impurity shielding apparatus for a tundish is provided to prevent impurities from being introduced into the tundish by shielding a hole of a vertical dam formed in the tundish. CONSTITUTION: An impurity shielding apparatus includes a refractory block(20) having a size adapted for shielding a hole(14) formed in a vertical dam(13) of a tundish(10). A lug(30) is inserted into the refractory block(20) in order to remove residual molten metal. The refractory block(20) has a rectangular shape. Amorphous material is attached to an outer portion of the lug(30). The lug(30) is formed at a front portion thereof with a hole, into which a hook of a crane is inserted. A blade plate is attached to a lower portion of the lug(30) in such a manner that the lug(30) is upwardly directed.
