The device can guide material webs via a direction-turning rod deck (12) with a folding section, these webs being in different planes. The material webs run into folding apparatus. There are running-in elements (7) on the longitudinal folding devices (8, 9). These elements have guide sectors (13, 14) which can be driven independently of each other.
