The pedal, indifferently for brake or clutch, incorporates a lever arm structured by means of two pieces (3) and (4) joined in an articulated manner through a hinge (5), the first being finished in the classic rest (1) for the driver's foot and the second articulated to a support (2), the first having an extension (6) finished in a notch (7) capable of receiving a transversal pin (8) that moves in a groove or ripped hole (9) of the piece (4) so that through this pin (8) the pieces (3) and (4) form a rigid lever arm which, in the event of a head-on collision of the vehicle with displacement of the support (2) for the pedal, it is divided by the action on the pin (8) of a rocker arm (10) actuated in turn by a cam (13) which in such a displacement of the support (12) comes up against a fixed stop (17) of the vehicle, for which purpose the mentioned rocker arm (10) has a fork (12) for pulling the pin (8) and the decoupling thereof from the notch (7). <IMAGE>
