APPARATUS FOR PRECOOLING FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

PURPOSE: An apparatus for precooling fruits and vegetables is provided which automatically washes, sterilizes and cools fruits and vegetables. The apparatus can also prevent the box containing the fruits and vegetables from being floated or swung during cooling process and uniformly precool the fruits and vegetables. CONSTITUTION: A precooling apparatus for fruits and vegetables comprises: a pair of driving chain gears(10) driven by a driving apparatus; a plurality of driven chain gears(40a,40b,40c) installed apart from the driving chain gears; a pair of chains(13) engaged to the driving chain gears and driven chain gears and rotated; a plurality of guide rails(15) fixedly installed on the inside wall of the precooling apparatus to guide the chains; a plurality of carriers(30) fixedly installed on the chains to receive and move a box; a washing room(20) for washing fruits and vegetables in the carrier; a washing apparatus(21) containing a plurality of nozzles(23); a cooling room placed at the lower part of the precooling apparatus and filled with cooling water; and two or more flotation preventing rods(60) for preventing the movement and swing of the carrier.
