METHOD FOR FABRICATING WATER PURIFICATION MATERIAL USING EXPANSIVE MINERALS

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for fabricating water purification materials with high efficiency using expansive minerals. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of mixing 35-45 wt.% of vermiculite, 25-35 wt.% of pearlite, and 25-35 wt.% of feldspar, and crushing the mixture; sorting the expansive mineral mixtures to have a size of 0.2-2.0 mm; expanding the expansive mineral mixtures by heating to a temperature between 800-1200°C at a rate of 2-5°C /min; adding pine resin to the mineral mixtures by 5-10 wt.% with respect to total weight of the mineral mixtures; and molding the mixture of the pine resin and the mineral mixtures into sphere with diameter of 5-10 mm by a pressing method.
