PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a synchronous error between a spindle and a feed shaft during tapping. SOLUTION: A workpiece is machined for tapping according to a position command pattern obtained through the following four steps. In the first step, a position command pattern for the spindle and the feed shaft is arithmetically operated and memorized according to a prescribed tapping infeed depth and a thread pitch. In the second step, the spindle and the feed shaft are synchronously operated according to the memorized position command pattern. In the third step, the synchronous error between the spindle and the feed shaft is arithmetically operated through actual rotary position of the spindle and actual feed position of the feed shaft during the synchronous operation. In the fourth step, the position command pattern is compensated according to the arithmetically operated synchronous error so that the synchronous error is decreased for the next tapping machining and the later.
